The Englewood home of admitted embezzler Rita Crundwell is on the market for $254,900. It is one of the few remaining items the U.S. Marshals Service has left to sell to recover some of the $54 million she stole from Dixon, Ill. The house is located on East Fifth Street.
The Englewood vacation home of the country’s most notorious embezzler is finally up for sale, but proceeds will fall far short of the nearly $54 million its owner admits to stealing from the small city of Dixon, Ill.
Rita Crundwell worked as chief financial officer for nearly two decades for Dixon, a city of about 15,000 located about 100 miles west of Chicago.
