PUNTA GORDA — Even before Punta Gorda Speedway owner Kevin Williams began dismantling the race track’s bleachers and fences prior to his lease expiring March 31, another prospective tenant announced interest in operating the longtime local track.

Andy Haase of Haase Investments, a real estate business based in Indianapolis, on Thursday told the Charlotte County Airport Authority, which owns the speedway site, his business was “very excited” about the approaching opportunity to bid on the property’s lease.
