PUNTA GORDA — The mending economy is giving renewed thrust to the luxury charter-flight business, and Air Trek, a family-owned business that has provided both charter and air-ambulance flights here for the past 35 years, is gearing up to make the most of that shift, according to vice president for operations Dana Carr.

“We’ve become very well-known for our ambulance business,” he said. “However we are working to resurrect our impact in the community as a charter-aircraft business.
