More than 100 signs marking several bicycle routes of up to 60 miles will soon be installed along popular cycling roads in greater Punta Gorda and Charlotte Harbor.

The route program, approved last month at a meeting of the City Council and Charlotte County Commission, will boost bicycling tourism and give residents a guide for navigating the area by bike, according to enthusiast Court Nederveld, who spearheaded the initiative.
