Warm Mineral Springs is used by thousands from around the world each year. The day spa property is jointly owned by the city of North Port and Sarasota County. Commissioners have less than six months to come up with a plan for who will run the Springs after the contract with the current operator expires.
NORTH PORT — As speculation surrounds the future of the Warm Mineral Springs Day Spa, some residents want to see it preserved by the city and county governments. Others hope developing it will bring a hotel, medical facilities, more tourism and other retail opportunities to the area.
However, before any development of the 81-acre Springs can get under way, strict guidelines established in the city of North Port’s Comprehensive Plan must be followed. The plan has been reviewed and approved by the state.
