Last year, one Charlotte County bus driver had a very close call.

A young girl had just gotten off driver Mary Ellen Meek’s bus. Her grandmother met her at the bus stop, but as they prepared to cross the street in front of the vehicle, a car illegally passed the stopped bus, missing the girl and her grandmother by inches. The bus’ stop sign was still extended and lights were still flashing.
