Built in 1960, the 27,305-square-foot building stands on a large lot of almost 3 acres. It had been a bowling alley before being acquired by the DeSears Group, which was founded in 1947 by the DeSears brothers in Somerset, Fla. Starting with a general grocery store including home appliances, within a few years they changed their focus to major appliances.
