ENGLEWOOD — A vote for Robert Lersch in the Englewood Area Fire Control District Seat 5 race is a vote for no one — even though his name appears on both the Sarasota and Charlotte county ballots.

“Somebody really dropped the ball here,” said Lersch, who dropped out of the race last month only to learn recently his name will be the first on the Seat 5 ballots in both Sarasota and Charlotte ballots.
