NORTH PORT — North Port High School suffered a heartbreaking loss in its District 8A-7 opener with East Lake on Friday night, losing 22-16 on a fourth-quarter touchdown.

The Eagles capped a 40-yard drive with a touchdown on a 9-yard pass from quarterback Pete DiNovo to Chris Depaolo with 11 minutes, 35 seconds left to ice the game.
