ENGLEWOOD — Whether Democrat or Republican, or eyeing the Charlotte County Commission or the Charlotte County Airport Authority, candidates feel developing economic diversity is a top priority.

Speaking before the Englewood Area Board of Realtors on Friday, District 3 commission candidates Democrat Valerie Guenther and Republican Bill Truex — as well as nonpartisan airport District 3 candidates Paul Andrews and incumbent Gary Stasko — all indicated that diversifying the county’s economic base will be a key to its future.
