The Venice Planning Commission this week decided to make the process for opening a pain clinic within city limits as difficult as it is in North Port or Sarasota County.

The board, which is drafting a new ordinance, briefly considered allowing the clinics to apply for a permit through a relatively simple process overseen by staff.
