VENICE — Sebastiano Sandro Ravagnani came to Venice as the producer of Cirque Italia last spring.

But the entertainment industry producer and writer did not leave when the show moved on. Instead, he moved into a house near the airport, the Italian American Club and the old Circus Arena, which he regards as a city treasure worth saving for its history as much as for its potential.
