ENGLEWOOD — It didn’t matter that Lemon Bay High School’s starters had long since left Thursday night’s spring game when rising sophomore Jeremy Snook scored the game-winning touchdown from the 1-yard line with 7.7 seconds to play.

The whole of the Manta Rays’ spring squad — starters, second-teamers and probably a few destined for junior varsity — celebrated as if they had won a district title, even if the game will be a distant memory by the fall.
