KISSIMMEE — The rallying cry was medals or bust for the Port Charlotte High School’s girls weightlifting squad Saturday at the state tournament.
“It was go big or go home,” Port Charlotte coach Sonia Tirb said of the team’s approach at the Kissimmee Civic Center. “We were making (the girls) jump 15 pounds at a time, pushing to get that sixth-place finish. Seventh place doesn’t do any good.”
