The Florida Highway Patrol reported a wreck Thursday night on Glades Country Road 731 in which an Arcadian resident was injured. According to FHP, a 2001 Dodge Caravan was northbound on C.R. 731 around 6:15 p.m. when the driver apparently lost control just after rounding a curve. The vehicle left the roadway and overturned.

According to FHP, by the time first responders arrived on scene, the driver and some occupants had already fled the area, leaving two injured passengers behind. One of them, Carlos Lopez, 22, of Arcadia, was found on the roadside and may have been ejected from the van. His injuries were serious and he was transported by helicopter to Lee Memorial Hospital. The second person, Jose Sergio Lopez, 22, residence unknown, had minor injuries and was taken to Lee Memorial for treatment.
