Jessie Lucille Palmer, 84, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, in Port Charlotte, Fla.
She was born Sept. 14, 1929 in Fort Ogden, Fla.
Jessie was a lifelong resident of Arcadia, Fla., and DeSoto County, Fla. She was a graduate of DeSoto County High School, class of 1948. Jessie was a homemaker; she was very devoted to taking care of the needs of her husband and her family. She enjoyed reading, cooking, fishing, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. Jessie was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Robert A “Bob” Palmer of Arcadia; son, Robert Lance (Sharon) Palmer of Arcadia; four grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, A. Dewey Nelson and Evelyn Battersby Nelson; and two sisters, Lois Carver and Margaret Durran.
A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. with a Memorial services to be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at the chapel of Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home, 50 No. Hillsborough Avenue, Arcadia.
