Mable Cade, 100, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Sept. 3, 2013.

She was born July 30, 1913, in Apalachicola, Fla., to Mr. General and Martha Pope, the eldest of five children.

Mable married Manuel Lee Jenkins in Waycross, Ga., and had three children, until his death in 1942. She moved to Florida and on Aug. 13, 1943, she was united in holy matrimony to the Rev. William Henry Cade, and together they had three children. After the death of her husband on Aug. 22, 1981, she continued to serve faithfully at Mount Olive Baptist Church, where her husband had been the pastor. Mable worked for Dr. George Agnew and family for over 25 years, and also worked at the former G. Pierce Wood Memorial Hospital as an aide, and retired in 1981. She served as a Sunday school teacher, a member of Choir 1, in the General Mission and any other way she could offer.

Mable is survived by four daughters, Mary, Ada, Daithel and minister Kathleen; two sons, Manuel and minister William; Goddaughter, Grace; nine grandchildren, Tonya, Patricia, Angie, Lucretia, Taska, William, Ayesha, Jackie and Durial; 13 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands; four siblings, Mannie, Frazier, Hubert and Geraldine; and grandson, Manuel Lee Jenkins Jr.

There will be no public viewing. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, at Shiloh Baptist Church, 14 S. Alabama Ave., Arcadia. Burial will take place at Oak Ridge Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Hickson Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Arcadia.
