Marcella Lafaun March

Marcella Lafaun March, 77, of Carpentersville, Ill., passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, after succumbing to adenocarcinoma.

She was born July 10, 1935, in Centralia, Ill., the daughter of Harry and Faola (nee Fetgatter) French.

Marcella recently returned to Illinois. Prior, she lived in Palm Bay, Fla., and Arcadia, Fla., and earlier in Elgin, Ill., Mount Vernon, Ill., and Centralia. She was a member of Palm Bay United Methodist Church in Palm Bay. Marcella was a loving, dear, warm-hearted soul with a beautiful smile and full of joy; she was a devoted mother, and beloved by her family. Her spirit lives on, and is reunited with her beloved husband, Ancil March.

Surviving are her two sons, Glenn (Diane) March of Overland Park, Kan., and Dennis (Maria) March of Austin, Texas; daughter, Donna March of Carpentersville; brother, Maurice (Nancy) French of Geneva, Ill.; and sister, Marilyn (Tim) Ballard of Palm Bay; five grandchildren, Diana, Jennifer and Daniel of Colorado Springs, Colo., Matthew (Jessica) of Dickenson, N.D., and Michelle of Woodland Park, Colo.; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ancil; and her parents.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren in Elgin. The Rev. Joel Kline and the Rev. Jeanne Davies, pastors of Highland Avenue Church of the Brethren, will officiate a memorial service to celebrate the life of Marcella March.
