Robert D. Ruston

The life of Robert D. Ruston, age 81, ended quietly, at Desoto Memorial Hospital on Saturday, November 17, 2012 after a brief illness. Born in Auburn, New York to R. Douglas and Sarah (Barrett) Ruston, who preceded him in death.

He was an Army veteran serving in a Transportation division in Germany and France during the Korean Conflict. He was a long distance truck driver his whole life. He was a Free Mason and a member of the Teamster Union during his younger years. Bob moved his family to Florida in the 1960’s where they lived in Sarasota before moving to Arcadia in the late 80’s.

Robert was married for 62 years to Geraldine F. (Hoatland) Ruston. They had 3 children Mark (Brenda) Ruston of Arcadia, FL, Laurie (Maynard) Boyce, Patricia (Herb) Ludlam both of Bradenton, FL., brother Richard D. Ruston, Jr. of Boca Raton, FL, five grandchildren Dylan (Vickie) Ruston of Daphne, Al., Allison (Randy) Humphries, Herb Ludlam, III, Rebecca and Laine Boyce of Bradenton, FL.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 304 W. Oak Street, Arcadia with a reception at the church to follow. The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support.
