Charles James “Jim” Fox, 70, of Lake Suzy, Fla., and formerly of Northville, N.Y., passed away Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, in Port Charlotte, Fla.

He was born May 7, 1942, in Gloversville, N.Y., to Donald W. and Muriel Managun Fox.

Jim was a 1960 graduate of Gloversville High School; and a 1964 graduate of SUNY at Oneonta, N.Y., with a B.S. degree in math education; and received a Master’s degree in 1968. He taught at Park Terrace Elementary School in Gloversville for three years, and then taught math at Mayfield High School in Mayfield, N.Y., for 30 years. Jim loved golf and was a former member of Kingsway Country Club in Lake Suzy, and the Port Charlotte Golf Club. He was also a former member of the Sacandaga Golf Club in Northville, and a member of the Elks Lodge. Jim had a fantastic sense of humor, and everyone who knew Jim loved him.

He is survived by his loving family, including wife of 46 years, Patricia A. Fox; son, Jeff (Sue) Fox of Delmar, N.Y.; daughters, Traci (John) Maurer of Hamburg, N.Y., and Brandi Fox of Gloversville; grandchildren, Kyle and Shane Fox, and Brendan and Madeline Maurer; sister, Marny (Paul) Boardway of Lake Suzy and Gloversville; niece, Kristine (Brian) Begley of Winter Garden, Fla.; nephew, Scott Boardway of Troy, N.Y.; two great-nephews; and several cousins.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at Roberson Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel. Further memorial services will be held in June in Gloversville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Port Charlotte Golf Club Landscape Project, 22400 Gleneagles Terrrace, Port Charlotte, FL 33952; or to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238.
