Betty Jane Washburn, 87, of Arcadia, Fla., passed away Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Fla.
She was born March 20, 1925, in Farrell, Pa., and had been a resident of DeSoto County, Fla., since 1994.
Betty was a member of Fort Ogden Baptist Church, and had been employed as a calibrator with Bliely Electric. She was also a teacher aide and worked school buses for the DeSoto County School Board.
Betty is survived by her husband, James Washburn of Arcadia; sons, James D. Washburn and Jay R. Washburn, both of Erie, Pa., and Jeff Washburn of Lebanon, Tenn.; daughter, Judith Ann Gaadt of Erie; sisters, Marge Brown of Ashland City, Tenn., and Issabell Malda of Bloomingdale, N.J.; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy J. Washburn.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Erie.
