James A. Johnson
James A. Johnson, 62, passed away Sept. 13, 2012, in Arcadia, Fla.
He was born Oct. 2, 1949, in Arcadia.
James was an automobile mechanic and truck driver. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with U.S. Marine Corps. James was a member of the American Veterans “AMVETS”. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. James especially loved spending quality time with is family. He was of the Baptist faith.
James is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Johnson of Arcadia; sons, William P. Baucom, James A. Johnson III, and John Allen Johnson all of Arcadia; daughters, Jaime (Wade) Porter of Punta Gorda, Fla., Jenny (Jeff) Irwin of Tennessee and Mary Sue Johnson of Arcadia; and 13 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James A. (Lemmurrel Smith) Johnson.
Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Jerry Atkins officiating. DeSoto County Veterans Honor Guard will render military honors at Joshua Creek Cemetery. A special account in the name of James A.
