Sandy Hook tragedy spurs concerns
over safety
Our view: Security and common sense are vital, and DeSoto schools are taking measures to assure our children’s safety.

Last week’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., was an unspeakable act beyond comprehension. It has left us with a collective pain in our hearts, and a fear over whether something like that could happen here.
It could. It’s extremely unlikely, but it could.
