Has your telephone suddenly lapsed into silence since the elections are over? I’ve picked up my receiver a few times since Tuesday, just to make sure it was still working, because for the past month or so that sucker was ringing off the hook with political robo-calls and even some live callers.

I’m not a rude guy and hanging up on folks is not something I do. However, I do make exceptions for political ads and other attempts to pitch me this or that, or to solicit donations from me. I don’t call folks, begging them for anything, and I’d like to receive the same treatment. Those pests should go stand on the corner or in traffic and do their begging, and they’d get a feel of how folks really feel about being solicited.
