Change has always been a part of life, from the dawn of time. Sometimes it’s mandatory, sometimes it’s optional, and sometimes it just happens all on its own. Public education is certainly not immune to this, as we all know and see more and more these days.
Some change has been great and some has not. We’re definitely seeing a much smarter population of students than we did many years ago, with the advancement of technology and communication, and the embracement of diversity in culture. But I have to question the long-range outcome we’ll someday see, when our schools discontinue or diminish some of its facets.
