At the end of the workshop attendees will have an opportunity to ask the expertsall the presenters will field your questions about native plants and conservation landscaping.

S aturday morning is the date for the free conservation landscaping workshop and plant sale to be held at the Turner Center annex building. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. The workshop is hosted by CHNEP — the Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program. CHNEP is a partnership working to protect the natural environment of Florida from Venice to Bonita Springs to Winter Haven. CHNEP has been holding these workshops since 2005 to provide information to residents in DeSoto and Hardee counties.
The morning will begin with refreshments and a video that shows some great yards planted with native plants. Maran Hilgendorf, communications manager for CHNEP will welcome participants and explain the role of CHNEP in protecting the environment of southwest Florida and why it is important to garden responsibly.
