Literary members learn about Highwaymen artists
The Twentieth Century Literary Club met at the new Peddler’s Boutique in downtown Arcadia on Nov. 15. Ladies were welcomed by hostesses Pam Ames, Linda Williams and Debbie Hackney into a shop filled with an amazing variety of items in a beautifully restored place of business.
Following a blessing given by Lavenia Carter, members were treated to a traditional Thanksgiving meal: southern baked ham, roasted turkey with cranberry sauce, Moma’s dressing, best-ever candied yams, scrumptious green bean casserole and biscuits. A delicious choice of cranberry cobbler with vanilla ice cream or Paula Deen’s pumpkin cake was offered for dessert. Many ladies chose a taste of both.
