DeSoto County Library needs volunteer shelf readers for the children’s easy book shelves. Volunteer an hour of your time every other week or so to help keep our books in the proper order.

What is shelf reading? There are only two correct locations for every book in the library. One is its proper spot on the library shelves. Books are arranged by category, and then arranged either alphabetically by author or — for nonfiction — numerically by Dewey Decimal System number and then alphabetical by author. Shelf reading is going through the shelves book by book and arranging them in the proper order.
