Due to the overwhelming volume of traffic responding to the Tough Mudder event being held in eastern Sarasota County, an alternate route for southbound traffic has been established. Vehicles traveling southbound on Interstate 75 should exit onto eastbound State Road 70. Follow S.R. 70 east to Sugar Bowl Road. Turn south onto Sugar Bowl Road. Follow to State Road 72 (Clark Road), and turn west.

This detour should alleviate eastbound traffic on Clark Road from backing up onto southbound I-75. Saturday, southbound I-75 traffic was backed up for approximately 5 miles as participants and spectators attempted to park at the event.
