Hometown football hero Chris Clemons, who plays strong safety for the Miami Dolphins, donated a handsome amount of money towards a Thanksgiving lunch Thursday at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, said his godfather Robert Rivers. Clemons couldn't attend because the Dolphins are hosting the Seattle Seahawks this Sunday. Furthermore, food was taken to the elderly and folks who could not attend the event. Clemons chose this particular church because that's where his family attends, said Rivers, who added that Clemons donates money every year to a local charitable organization. The community, said Rivers, would like to express their gratitude to Clemons, and hoped that they could thank him personally. Clemons, said Rivers, does not like to disclose the amount of his donations, but “we still have money left over.” For his part, Clemons expressed he is looking forward to working with DeSoto kids next summer, his godfather said.
