ARCADIA — Arcadia police have reopened the investigation into who wrote an email to then-City Administrator Lawrence Miller on June 5, telling him he was being fired that night, hours before the motion to dismiss him was even put on the floor.

Arcadia Police Department investigators have identified former city engineer Ernest Hewett — who had also applied for the city administrator position — as the possible sender. Police do not suspect him of any criminal activity. He reportedly declined to comment during an interview with a detective Tuesday.
