Shaker (pictured with Sara Meadows), a 31-year-old horse, is one of two being retired. For 13 years the horse served with the Miami-Dade Police Department. Afterward, he served as a therapy horse at TiAnViCa. Another horse, Roxy, a rescue horse and also 31-years-old, will be housed in the newly-constructed stable pictured in the background.

In one of his last capacities as president of the Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce, Rob Kincart (left) tells a little about the TiAnViCa horse therapy facililty. Co-owner Roger Meadows, with Roxy, listens.
Thanks to donated material and labor, a new stable was constructed that will be used to house horses being retired from “active duty” at TiAnViCa, a therapy riding center located on State Road 60 in Bartow. To celebrate the construction, a ribbon-cutting by the Greater Bartow Chamber of Commerce took place at the facility Tuesday, Nov. 27.
The shelter was made possible through the efforts of the Polk County Builders Association Foundation, the Tri-County Roofers Association, and Kelley Buick-GMC of Bartow, said TiAnViCa co-owner Roger Meadows.
