On Monday, March 18, the Lady Jackets quietly disposed of the Ridge Community Bolts by a score of 10-0. Bartow pounded out 12 hits along with three walks as they scored two in the first inning, one in the second and third innings, four in the fourth inning, one in the fifth and two in the sixth.

Lexi Sims, Rachael Imig, Chelsea King and Alex Mace contributed two hits each while Deean Davis, Cheyenne Blaha, Mackenzie Brown and Stefani Walls chipped in for one hit each.

Tonee Fabrizi, Mackenzie Brown, Rachael Imig and Alex Mace all had two RBIs each.

Emily Delldonne pitched five innings shutting down 15 batters in a row while striking out six. Brooke Farrer closed out the sixth inning. The Jackets improved to 12-1 overall and 6-1 in district play with the win.

The JV team defeated the Bolts 12-1 as Jasmine Locke, Vickie Jones, Briannah Cunningham, Lexy Cables and Mallory Goin had two hits each. Taylor Williams pitched the entire game allowing only two hits while striking out four. The JV improved their record to 10-2.

On Tuesday, March 19, the Lady Jackets traveled to George Jenkins High School to face the Eagles who have quite a rivalry with Bartow. Chelsea King held the Eagles to just three hits while Bartow managed to pound out six hits for a 2-1 victory.

These two teams could meet again in the District tournament which will be April 15-19 at Lake Region High School.

Pounding out hits for Bartow were Cheyenne Blaha, Lexi Sims, Rachael Imig, Stefani Walls, Chelsea King and Alex Mace with the big one being a towering bomb over the scoreboard hit by freshman Lexi Sims.

The win improved the Jackets to 13-1.

The JV upped their record to 11-2 behind Hope Brannon’s 11 strikeouts in route to a 11-0 victory. Bartow managed six hits but the Eagles pitcher had trouble finding the plate as she walked 12 batters.

Brooke Smith contributed two hits while Mallory Goin, Vickie Jones, Jasmine Loketick and Grace McKellip all had one hit each.

In Wednesday’s edition we featured a Sophomore and Freshman and here is an update on sophomore Britney Meadows.

What do you or where do you want to go after high school. Britney wants to attend the University of South Carolina to study biology then attend the University of Colorado to study Vascular surgery.

Best memory or moment of being a Yellow Jacket is eating the pregame meals with the team before the playsoffs. She stated the team is like her extended family.

The Jackets played at Lake Gibson on Thursday, March 21, and this will appear in the Wednesday, March 27, edition.

Next week the Jackets will host the 5th Annual Tournament of Champions.
