On Saturday, Dec. 15, 63 students competed in the Summerlin Slam Judo Championships VIII at Bartow High School.

It continues to be one of a unique event that Summerlin Academy, in conjunction with Summerlin Judo, holds each semester. It began in May 2008 and more tan 450 students from Summerlin, Bartow High, and International Baccalaureate have competed in a Slam event over the years.
