David Antonio Bostick, a Bartow resident who was facing charges of sexual battery of a child, had his charges reduced to child abuse Dec. 7 through a plea agreement. Bostick pled no contest and was sentenced to time served — three years in the Polk County Jail.

He was facing a possible life sentence if found guilty on the more serious charge.
