Today is our Friends of the Library Annual Spring Brunch. Lloyd Harris will be introducing his new book Bartow Images of America and sharing some photos not included in the book. You do not have to be a member of the Friends of the Library to attend and even if you have not signed up, feel free to attend to hear Mr. Harris speak. The Friends of the Library are among our biggest supporters and we encourage you to join and become part of this wonderful group. For those of you that have signed up for the lunch, be sure to bring $5 to pay at the door.

Next week is National Library Week. This year’s theme is Communities Matter @ Your Library. During National Library Week and throughout April, libraries of all types host special events to highlight the unique role libraries play in people’s lives. Today’s libraries can help you and your family discover a new and exciting world through collections, digital resources and more. Whether you come for homework or job searches, help with citizenship issues or finances, adult education classes or to find the best books for young readers, libraries are a great place to spend quality time and connect with loved ones and friends.
