The Bartow Library is now one of the happiest places on earth. The 1040 tax forms are in! After weeks and weeks of anticipating their arrival, they made it to our lobby. Most of the popular forms should now all be available for you to come and pick up. As always, if there is one you don’t see, we can have it printed for you.

Today every library in Polk County will be hosting career specialists from Polk Works. They will be at our library to help with resume review, mock interviews and job search assistance.

The specialists will be here from
9 a.m.-5 p.m. Even if you already have a resume and feelers out for jobs, this could be an opportunity for extra help and guidance.

Celebrate Teen Tech Week in your library. Sharpen your searching skills by competing against other teens in a battle for quickest and best answer. Brain food and beverages will be served. The program will be Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m.

The Central Florida Hearing Center will be back on March 8 from
9 a.m.-3 p.m. to give out free amplified phones to the hard of hearing. Eligible participants include permanent Florida residents, 3 or older, certified as hard of hearing, deaf, deaf/blind or speech impaired. For more details on this free program, you can contact Jackie Bowman at 863-686-3189.

Come enjoy a movie next Saturday, but please don’t “wreck” the building. We will be showing the new Disney flick, “Wreck-It Ralph.” Ralph is a video game villain who wants to change his destroying ways and become a hero. This movie is rated PG and is 108 minutes.

Now it is time to play “Who Wants to Be a Volunteer?” I am in desperate need of Gallery Guides for the Pamplin gallery upstairs. Even if you only have one free afternoon every two weeks, I still want you. The only way for people to enjoy the talents of our local artists is by having the gallery open and available and that requires a little outside help. You don’t have to be an art aficionado or even enjoy art to help me out. It just requires you to be willing to devote a couple of hours to overseeing the traffic in and out of the gallery. You will have my undying gratitude and possibly even a free soda or coffee.
