Mummies, mutants and maniacs are all invited to movie day at the library. We will be showing the hilarious animated movie “Hotel Transylvania.” It is rated PG and runs 91 minutes.

It begins at 2:30 p.m. and instead of blood, we will be serving sodas and popcorn.

If you are going to be stopping in to pick up or print off tax forms this week, why not do it on Tuesday at noon? We will be having our Brown Bag Concert Series performers back. Students from Bartow High will be here to put on an excellent music program. Feel free to bring your lunch and we will provide the drinks. The program begins at noon and generally lasts an hour. This is perfect for you, whether you’re retired or just needing a short break from the office.

On Monday Gary York, the author of “Corruption Behind Bars,” will be at the library from 5-7 p.m. for a book signing. It is stories about crime and corruption in the American prison system. York lives in Polk Couty. We do have a copy in our library that will be available for circulation that evening.

Jan. 27 was the birthday of Lewis Carroll, the author of “Alice in Wonderland,” but like the White Rabbit — we’re celebrating late. Join us for a very merry unbirthday celebration at our Mad Hatter Tea Party. Learn how Wonderland came to be, make a card soldier, play “Pin the Grin on the Cheshire Cat” and watch a cartoon. Decorate a hat and wear it to the party. The most creative hat wins a prize. The program is designed for 6-8 year olds and will begin at 4 p.m. on Tuesday.

Join us for story times this week with Miss Melissa. Wednesday at 10 a.m., for 3-5 year olds, is a winter themed story time complete with stories, finger plays, music and films. Thursday at
10 a.m., for 18 months to 2 years, is Book Babies featuring nursery rhymes, finger plays, music and bubbles.

Not into the mushy romantic stuff for next Thursday? Teens that would like to celebrate Single’s Awareness, better known as Valentine’s Day, may join us for a clever take on the classic TV show Jeopardy. It will be an Anti-Valentine’s Day themed game. Game begins at 4:30 p.m.
