Closing gun ‘loophole’ opposed
Polk County commissioners will not do anything to close a loophole that allows the sale of firearms between private parties at gun shows in the county.
The request to do so was made by Arthur Hayhoe at the Tuesday, Feb. 5, regular meeting. Hayhoe, of Wesley Chapel, is the director of the Florida Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, which he said is the only organization in the state addressing the issue of gun control.
