Audit: Airport finances OK
Despite a year in which the Bartow Municipal Airport Development Authority saw yet another restaurant operation falter and the loss of several tenants, plus an ongoing effort to resolve a lease with one tenant and another that wants to take over the space occupied by the former, the airport is on sound financial footing, based upon an independent auditors’ report.
The audit, conducted by the Sarasota office of Purvis Gray and Company concluded that as of 2012, the airport had total net assets of $18.39 million ($18,390,285), an increase of $1, 262,853 from 2011 ($17,128,232).
